Every Christmas our agency celebrates the season with a joint staff and client party. On this occasion the theme was anything nautical. Normally these are simple EDM's sent out to all clients via email. But realising not everyone wants to go to the trouble of dressing up or looking silly, I had the idea to combine the invite with something that could be used as an item to wear (but could also be tossed away after a few drinks!). The age-old pirate or admirals hat made from paper seemed an ideal solution. Four designs were printed offset onto A2 uncoated stock then folded into A4 and sent to each client. On one side was the design and on the other the instructions to fold the same invite into the shape of the hat to wear on the night.
